The hotel's location is fantastic, just a short distance from the heart of Porthcawl, right across from a car park, a public forum, and nearby shops. the Grand Pavilion Theatre was conveniently situated not too far away from...

Only saving grace was that the beds were comfortable.
When we walked in the entrance hall smelt of stale booze and musty. Reception was terse and brief and not particlarly helpful. Whilst the beds were comfortable and the bed linen & duvet were clean the room had flaking paint and the bathroom had areas that had not been cleaned properly. Also our original online booking for two couples had not been entered in their bookwork and, had I not phoned beforehand, we might not have had a room on arrival!

Clean and tidy room with en suite, very good value.
Very noisy room in a "pub hotel" above the bar. Unable to get to sleep until 12am due to large lady singing in the bar. Woken up at 4am by clubbers returning drunk and slamming all the doors.

The staff where very friendly and downstairs has been modenised slightly.

The staff were very nice
If you want a quiet night then maybe avoid this place. There was kareoke downstairs until midnight and there was at last one stag party staying. I had a drunk guy trying to get into my room at 1.30am who would not go away until I answered the door. Its a great place if there is a group of you and you want to get really drunk but not great if you need a good nights sleep.

There was a bar and good food available. If you like to be entetained then this is the place for you. There is something on every night it would seem incuding live acts and disco etc.
It was quite noisy if you wanted to get an early night. The music did stop before midnight. The room was tired but clean. A small TV provided freeviw via a box. The shower was poor.

Close to function I was attending
No hot water to prepare to go out and to many electrical extensions which I believe are a fire danger
